Yesterday I saw Jerry Seinfeld explaining that he worked for $25 a day (No, not per hour. Per day!) sledgehammering walls down when he was 21 years old.
At that time stand-up comedy seemed impossible to him. He sat in New York City with his lunch and his calculation was: Even if he's not good at it,.. if he just could make enough money for a loaf of bread per week, he could survive and that's the greatest life he could have.
I deeply admire this man because he was so committed and in love with what he did. He went "all in" and was on stage in the Comic Strip every night, 7 days a week. He knew his priorities and he acted accordingly, although not everyone could understand his path.
What about you? What are you willing to sacrifice from your life today to live on purpose, do what you love, make the stuff you are meant to create? Would you live in an apartment half the current size? Would you cut all evenings dining out to reach your dreams? Would you cut back on meeting your friends? Would you work night shifts? Would you sell your car? Would you cancel the gym and switch to pushups and kettle bell at home? Would you do jobs that are way "below" your level of education?
What priority does your dream job, your purpose, your project of heart have?
What are you willing to rank down in your list of priorities to push your dream or idea up in the list?
When will you start acting according to your new list?
What can you do in the next 24 hours, to show yourself and/or others, that your dream really matters to you, that you understood the importance of following your heart? If you really mean it, tweet or post it, mentioning me (@mshipwood) to receive a little gift.
When you are ready to make your dream a priority instead of an option, let me know! I can help you with making it happen!
